East Jordan Family Health Center Names New Medical Director

David Best, D.O. has been named Medical Director of the East Jordan Family Health Center, Bellaire Family Health Center, and Central Lake Family Health Center.

As Medical Director, he will be responsible for overseeing clinical operations, quality assurance and medical management of preventative, acute and chronic care for patients in all life cycles.

He looks forward to the challenges and opportunities for developing and enhancing health care initiatives that positively impact patients in all three service areas. 

With the health centers’ recent transition to electronic medical records this past year, Dr. Best has taken on a leadership role and serves as training mentor to other medical providers on staff.

Dr. Best received his Bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University in 1997 and is a graduate of Des Moines University School of Medicine, where he received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002.  He completed his residency and internship at Garden City Osteopathic Hospital in 2005.

Dr. Best is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine and serves on the board of the Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians. 

He joined the East Jordan Family Health Center in August, 2005, and currently practices family medicine at the Bellaire Family Health Center. 

The East Jordan, Bellaire, and Central Lake Family Health Centers are federally qualified health centers, providing quality healthcare to rural communities in northern Michigan.  The centers offer the latest technology in digital X-ray and mammography, and income based sliding fee discounts and prescription assistance programs are available to eligible patients.
